Raised in Germany and shaped by a global perspective from an early age, Margo Hughes built a career at the intersection of brand strategy, field execution, and operational innovation within the restaurant industry. After earning a degree in Advertising from the University of Tennessee, Margo moved to New York City to begin a career in marketing at an agency working on the Burger King business; this is where she first discovered the impact corporate/brand marketing plans can have on franchise-based restaurant operations.
A few years later, Margo had an opportunity to transition to the corporate side, joining Dunkin’ Brands on the field marketing team. There, she partnered closely with franchisees to translate national brand strategy into local execution, deepening her understanding of the operational realities of multi-unit restaurant networks.
Margo made another move closer to the business in 2015 when she joined Dunkin’ franchisee Bluemont Group as Director of Marketing. Over the last 10 years she has been promoted through multiple leadership roles while helping scale the organization to a 100-store network. Today, Margo serves as Executive Director of Business Services, leading operations-support functions.
Throughout her tenure at Bluemont Group, Margo has championed innovation and data-driven decision-making. Most recently she led an AI-powered donut forecasting initiative projected to reduce donut waste by $1 million annually—demonstrating how thoughtful application of technology can drive both profitability and sustainability.
